This information worked fine for SuSE 10.1.
You should NOT need to compile any dependencies from source. EVERYTHING is available as a package. The install should be trivial. Some packages you will need to install if not already installed:
- autoconf, automake, libtool
- python-devel
- swig
- fftw3-devel
- cppunit-devel
- boost-devel
- wxGTK
- python-wxGTK
- python-numeric
- alsa-devel
- SDL-devel
- sdcc (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=599)
- sdcc-common (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=599)
You can install these packages by using YAST, except for SDCC packages for which you should use rpm (rpm -ivh package_filename). Use the latest versions of all packages you install unless otherwise noted.
Then follow instructions at BuildGuide.
SUSE Install WalkThru
Accessing the USRP as a non-root user
SuSE 10.1 uses "udev" rather than "hotplug" to automatically handle plug/unplug events for usb devices. To allow users other than root to use the USRP, follow these directions.
